Eric Fischer – Innovation and Design Lead
Eric is our Innovation and Design Lead and is responsible for managing our design-driven projects here at the Garfield Center. He helps our team frame, and often re-frame, projects to ensure we are solving the right problem and that the solutions match a need. In addition, he leads Garfield’s efforts to test and build new service offerings such as Design Sprints where we combine Agile and Design methodologies to quickly solve problems.
Eric joins the Garfield team from Operational Excellence, a consulting group in KP Northern California, where he managed a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from hospital performance improvement to planning the implementation and roll-out of an enterprise technology for hospital staffing. Prior to coming to Kaiser Permanente, Eric received his Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley during which time he consulted for various healthcare organizations including Blue Shield of CA, SF Unified School District, and the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Eric has previously worked for Eli Lilly and taught English in South Korea many moons ago after graduating with his B.A from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
When Eric is not questioning what problem we are solving, he enjoys studying and playing jazz, swimming, and exploring the Sierras on multi-day backpacking trips.
